A graduate of the Université Catholique de Louvain (Catholic University of Louvain) in Belgium, Jean-Jacques Degroof earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and graduated summa cum laude. From there, Jean-Jacques Degroof enrolled in the school’s graduate program, eventually receiving a Master’s degree in Labor Studies. Over the course of his career, Jean-Jacques Degroof had credentials as a researcher, and as an entrepreneur.

From 1983 to1993, Jean-Jacques Degroof worked in the financial sector, starting as a Banking Trainee, advancing to Credit Analyst and then to Private Banking Manager, eventually assuming a board position in a major private bank in Brussels, Belgium. In the early 1990s, Jean-Jacques Degroof returned to school and pursued a Master of Science and Doctorate in Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Currently, Jean-Jacques Degroof is an Affiliate Researcher at MIT’s Industrial Performance Center and the Louvain School of Management at the University of Louvain. A specialist on innovation and entrepreneurship, Jean-Jacques Degroof has authored a number of articles related to this topic for both American and European publications. In addition to his professional endeavors, Jean-Jacques Degroof devotes a large portion of his time to private investing and serves as a member of the editorial board for the French journalEntreprendre & Innover.
